There is an old graveyard above the beach. Not sure of the history on it, but the grave stones have Japanese writing on them.
Went to Salt Pond Beach again. This looked like a native Hawaiian looking out to the sea.
Lori had picked up an underwater camera from the store so we tried it out. After she took a couple of photos, she noticed that the housing was full of water. Turned out that it was missing the button that turns the flash on and the hole was letting water in. So much for that idea. We will have to take it back to the store.
There are no limits on how high you can lift your truck or how wide of tire you can have here. I have seen some really jacked up rigs with tires sticking out wayyy too far, but this is more common to see as they put the smaller tires on for mileage. Just another example of too much lift, not enough tire!
We were at the end of the small air strip and this ultralight came buzzing over. I scrambled to get my camera out and the guy waved as he went over.
They also do helicopter tours from here.
And, Lori said that they do shark spotting with planes and helicopters. Hmm, I wonder if they use this plane?
Passed this place on the way back from the beach.
Rainbow Paint and Fishing Supplies??? Apparently it pays to diversify.
Took one of the back streets back to the house and passed this tree. Still trying to find out what it is.
Also passed a hoarder house.
Good thing they mark the entrance to it with "IN"...
Got back to the house and the kids finally noticed the presents under the tree.
And...London figured out that he might be able to determine what the presents were by the receipt in the bag. A struggle ensued, but Mommy won!
8oz of Elmers Glue, 1 teaspoon of Borax, and some water.
London carefully mixes the first batch with some red food coloring in it.
The GAK starts to form.
Kailin helps with the second batch. This one with green food coloring.
GAK balloon!
GAK hand.
GAK hat >>>
GAK has so many uses but you have to be careful where you put it...
We did our early Christmas with the kids.
Eric got a garden hose! Just what he wanted...
No, really, he did want a garden hose. Must be that agronomist in him.
Popee got a specially wrapped present. I wonder what it is?
Ooohhh, it's candy! And three different kinds of covered Macadamia nuts!
Kailin got a (you guessed it...) makeup kit!
She also got a "Monster Art Box" that turned out to have more air space than we expected! Still had a good assortment of coloring tools.
London's radio controlled helicopter! We still haven't mastered flying this thing, but it has held up well to several spectacular crashes!
And Popee now has a pot to...
nevermind.
Kailin painted this herself! Very cool.
